In pre-production: "In The Room" A short film about how Child Abuse
affects everyone in our society.
This new film, written by Allan Rich, is a chilling tale of physical and sexual abuse perpetrated by parents and other household members on a young boy and girl.
The film’s aim is to reach high school seniors and college students, many of whom are or will soon become parents themselves. As Mr. Rich states, “This film is intended to scare the hell out of people who haven’t considered the devastation of child abuse and the unintended consequences of promiscuous sexual behavior.”
Meanwhile donations toward the production of the film are coming in from multiple sources, some large, some small. Among the donors for 2005: The Rosalinde & Arthur Gilbert Foundation, Columbus Jewish Film Festival, Monty Hall Family Foundation, Laurieann and Eric Lewis, Zack Norman, William J. Standish and many others. (See list of donors.)
As per the US Department of Health and Human Services, in the year 2002, 3,196,000 children were reported and investigated as having been abused.
